The day is quickly approaching for the grade 5s to go to camp! I have attached PDFs of the Participant Manual below, as well as the presentation that parents are receiving on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 4:15 for our trip on May 1st. If there are any questions, please send me an email! [email protected]
I'm sure there are lots of questions about camp - so here are some notes:
Grade 5s are going to Camp Chief Hector. Here is the website. We will be going from May 1-4. We will not require volunteers. There will be a mandatory information session in early April. A parent/guardian representative will have to be present for the child to go on this trip. The paperwork (medical forms etc.) will be going home early April (it is quite a process to make sure that all safety concerns are looked after). I will give more information and updates on this site as I get it! All the best, Mr. MacKenzie Hello Grade 5 Students and Their Parents, We have registered for Camp Chief Hector as an overnight trip at the beginning of May! There will be many details to come including:
Please stay tuned to our twitter feed and email for future details. All the best, Mr. MacKEnzie We're setting up Basketball Intramurals for students in grades 3, 4, and 5. Within this lunchtime club, students will learn the value of teamwork and will become gracious in winning and losing. Sportsmanship will be central and will guide our league. Students will learn about fair play and collaboration.
The games will take place in 3 parts. Regular Season Part 1: Students will become members of a team. They will learn to support each other and to win and lose appropriately. At the end of the first part, teams will be adjusted to make them more even. This is the trade deadline. Regular Season Part 2: Students have their final teams, and will compete in a second round-robin regular season. Playoffs: Students will participate in a playoff bracket. Finals: The winning team will play against the teachers, where they will lose. Badly. :) Here is a link to the current standings. As we get ready for the Terry Fox run, check the map out below to get a sense of where we're going...
Also, check out our official Terry Fox Page, made by fifth graders. Scroll down to play some games, too! |
